Whiskey Sour
Fresh and sour cocktail for all occasions
Ingredients
- 2oz (55ml) whiskey of choice
- 3/4oz (20ml) lemon juice
- 1/2oz (15ml) simple syrup (use xylitol/erythritol based for keto)
- 1/2oz egg white
- Ice
- 3 dashes orange Angostura bitters
- Dried citrus slice (orange, lemon, or lime) to garnish
Equipment
- Cocktail shaker
- Jigger
- Hawthorne strainer
- Rocks glass
Method
- Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a dry shaker (no ice).
- Dry shake vigorously until egg white is frothy.
- Add ice and shake again until the shaker is well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Dot 3 dashes of bitters on top and drag a toothpick through to create a pattern.
- Garnish with a dried citrus slice.
