Whiskey Sour

Fresh and sour cocktail for all occasions

Ingredients

  • 2oz (55ml) whiskey of choice
  • 3/4oz (20ml) lemon juice
  • 1/2oz (15ml) simple syrup (use xylitol/erythritol based for keto)
  • 1/2oz egg white
  • Ice
  • 3 dashes orange Angostura bitters
  • Dried citrus slice (orange, lemon, or lime) to garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Rocks glass

Method

  1. Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a dry shaker (no ice).
  2. Dry shake vigorously until egg white is frothy.
  3. Add ice and shake again until the shaker is well chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  5. Dot 3 dashes of bitters on top and drag a toothpick through to create a pattern.
  6. Garnish with a dried citrus slice.
